RAT ANTI MOUSE CD5:FITC

Rat anti Mouse CD5 recognizes the CD5 cell surface glycoprotein. CD5 is a 67 kDa member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich protein superfamily. CD5 is primarily expressed on an IgM subset of B cells and alpha/beta T cells showing very little expression on gamma delta T cells. CD5 is also expressed by tumor cells in cases of B Cell Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (B-CLL). The role for CD5 involves its interactions with antigen receptors on both T cells and B cells although the precise function has not been elucidated. The ability of CD5 to inhibit TCR signaling implies that it is important in T cell development and activation.
