CircuLex VILIP-1/2 ELISA Kit

Visinin-like protein-1 (VILIP-1) is a neuronal calcium-binding protein. VILIP-1 is a cytoplasmic protein found almost exclusively in neurons of the central nervous system and human VILIP-1 shares 100% amino acid identity with the mouse and rat homologs. The concentration of VILIP-1 was increased in plasma of stroke patients and in cerebrospinal fluid in a rat model for stroke, suggesting that VILIP-1 is a potential and very promising biomarker for CNS damage. VILIP-1 and YKL-40 (also called CHI3L1 (Chitinase-3-like protein 1)) in cerebrospinal fluid were reported predict biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in human clinical cohort study.
