8-Hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OH-dG; Item No. 89320) and 8-hydroxyguanosine (8-OHG; Item No. 89300) are oxidized nucleosides and markers of DNA and RNA oxidative damage, respectively.{19604,60730} Levels of 8-OH-dG increase in DNA in the presence of eugenol and hydrogen peroxide or copper sulfate.{7557} Levels of 8-OHG increase in response to hydrogen peroxide in HeLa cells in a concentration-dependent manner.{60730} 8-OHG has been detected in neurons in postmortem brain from patients with Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.{60731,60732} Cayman's DNA/RNA Oxidative Damage Monoclonal Antibody (Clone 7E6) can be used for affinity purification and ELISA applications.
