Product description GIP occurs in endocrine cells in the small intestine. GIP is released upon feeding, particularly after carbohydrate-rich food, and is known to sensitize the insulin cells to rise in blood sugar and is thus involved in the insular axis. GIP also inhibits gastric acid secretion. Absorption with 10 – 100 µg immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes the staining, while CCK-39, VIP and secretin do not.
