In cutaneous melanocytic lesions, the level of expression of three integrin subunits (a2, a6, and ß3) has been found to be correlated with tumor progression. Mab GoH3, directed against alpha 6-integrins/ CD49f (Laminin receptor, VLA-6), shows a cytoplasmic staining pattern of uveal and cutaneous melanoma cells. Antibody blocks binding of integrin a6 to laminin P1 and E8. In WB reactive with two major bands of 120 and 140 kD under non-reducing conditions.
