Proteintech’s HumanKine® range of human cell-expressed Proteins are created in HEK293 cells and are ideal for use in human applications.

Using recombinant proteins from a human expression system provides the following benefits:

  • Native conformation and post-translational modifications (PTMs) that are consistent with those seen on endogenous human proteins.
  • Animal component and xeno free. Cell media for human stem cell technology and CAR-T cell therapy must be animal component and xenobiotic free.
  • Expressed and purified without any tags. Inclusion of a tag can often result in changes to the structure of the protein of interest.
  • High stability. Due to native glycosylation and maturation, human cell expressed proteins can outperform other systems in terms of stability.
  • High activity. Human cell-expressed proteins tend to have higher activity than insect or E-coli. The figure below compares activity of insect, human, and E-coli cell expressed cytokines
