Ks 19.10 represents a sensitive marker to discriminate glandular epithelia (and tumors derived therefrom) from those of different origin. No reaction with hepatocellular CA! Tumors specifically detected: All adeno-CA tested; cholangio CA of liver; renal cell CA, transitional cell CA of bladder; ovary CA; squamous cell CA of cervix, bronchus and lung (intermediate type); carcinoid tumor of bronchus; mammary CA. Polypeptide reacting: Mr 40 000 polypeptide (keratin K19; formerly also designated cytokeratin 19) of human glandular epithelia.Reactivity on cultured cell lines: MCF-7, negative on PLC.
