trans-(+-)-GK563 is a potent B-lactone inhibitor of group VIA (GVIA) calcium-independent phospholipase A2 (GVIA iPLA2; IC50 = 1 nM).{35898} It is selective for GVIA iPLA2 over GVIA cPLA2 (IC50 = 22 ?M). trans-(+-)-GK563 (1 and 10 ?M) inhibits apoptosis induced by IL-1B and IFN-y in INS-1 B-cells.
